Activities During the Year

Market Day:  Market Day is an opportunity for families to support our school when buying food.  Market Day returns money to our school from food purchased.  Families choose from a variety of foods and order them on line or by returning the order form to the school office.  The food is delivered to the school to be picked up.  Volunteers are needed for monthly flyers distribution, separating the food for delivery distribution, and for filling orders.

Fundraisers:  Volunteers are always needed to help with fundraisers. You can help by collecting and sending in the items, or help with processing the items. Fundraisers that continue through out the year are:

Please send in the items and PTA will do the  rest.  We do earn money back when we turn in these items.

Meijers and Target Shopping:  If you shop at either or both of these stores please register at the customer service desk or online.  A portion of the money you spend is sent back to Farmington.

Seasonal Activities

Pumpkin Fest:  Pumpkins, corn stalks, hay, doughnuts, cider and caramel apples can be purchased during Pumpkin Fest.  Pumpkin Fest usually happens either the first or second Saturday in October.  It's a nice time for families to get together and enjoy picking out fall decorations.

Santa Shop:  A room is set up at Farmington where we have a company come and supply us with a variety of items that students can purchase for their family, teachers, etc.  This is a wonderful way for students to build a sense of independence while shopping.  We need many parent volunteers to set up and assist our shoppers.

Cookies with Santa:  Students spend an evening visiting with Santa eating cookies and sharing their "Wish Lists".  It's a fun time for all during the holiday season.

Founders Day:  Founders Day is always held the first week in February at the high school.

Reading Awareness Month:  March is Reading Awareness Month.  We offer a variety of activities that are based on reading.

Teacher Appreciation:  A week in May is set aside for the PTA, parents and students to show our teachers what they mean to us.  Through out the week the PTA does special activities to honor the teachers.

Special Spring Events

Carnival and Ice Cream Social: May is Carnival and Ice Cream Social Night.  We need a lot of parent involvement to help us out for this activity.  Each classroom will pick a different activity for the carnival and then be responsible to run the activity the day of the carnival.  Carnival and Ice Cream Social Night is a wonderful time for family and friends to get together for the evening.

Sixth Grade Promotion:  Sixth Grade students say good bye to Farmington while they look forward to moving on to the middle school for seventh grade.  It is a very special day for students, families and staff as we celebrate the academic success of our students.
